Google introduces Chrome OS tablet with 1,000 faces
Bangalore: After having the hue and cry over the launch of Apple iPad last week, now Google came up tablet computing with its browser-based Chrome OS. The company released some concept art portraying what a tablet based on the Chrome operating system might look like and what it might possibly be capable of doing. It could be more attractive than an iPad in some ways. Of course, it could also be a no-show, as nothing official is out of the bag yet. The new device shows a slim and slender tablet with an interface and OS that can be scaled to be used in quite different formats - similar to the Android OS on smartphones. For backing up their ideas, Google has also put together this demo video showing off what it'll be capable of. It's not sure, but company is likely to launch its own tablet by 2011 end. According to experts, Google's tablet may differentiate itself from other tablets available in the markets on the basis of its cloud-computing roots, but that may not be enough to make it stand out in an increasingly crowded marketplace -- whenever, and if, it does arrive.
