Goldman Sachs' Rajat Gupta new suspect in Galleon case: WSJ
Los Angeles: Galleon Group hedge fund case seems to be taking a new turn, as the U.S. government is trying to know that whether Goldman Sachs Group Director Rajat Gupta had informed Rajaratnam, Head of the Galleon Group hedge fund about a pending $5 billion investment in the brokerage by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway in 2008, reports Wall Street Journal. According to the report, the U.S. government has filed a reports alleging that Gupta told Raj Rajaratnam of the deal. Rajaratnam is currently under indictment on charges of insider trading. By taking an unnamed source, the report has stated that Gupta himself told authorities about the tip-off to Rajaratnam. It is being understood that after this announcement, Gupta may resign his position with Goldman Sachs next month.
