German delegation to visit Bangalore Bio 2004

BANGALORE: Building new frontiers in the Indo - German Biotechnology relationship, is a 15 – member German delegation set to participate in the forthcoming Bangalore Bio 2004. The Delegation has been organized by the International Technology Cooperation Network, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour, Govt of Germany. H.E Mr. Heimo E. Richter, Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to India is a Guest of Honour at the inauguration function on the July 11, 2004 where he will deliver a special address. Some of the companies part of this entourage are MWG Biotech, Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH, FIZ Biotechnologie GmbH, Frankfurt Economic Development GmbH, Gene Bridges GmbH, figs Institut fur Geratebau GmbH, AiF Geschaeftsstelle Berlin, Evotec OAI and TU Stephani GmbH. M.K. Shankaralinge Gowda, IAS Secretary, Dept. IT, BT and Science & Technology, Govt. of Karnataka stated, “We are honoured to host the German delegation in Bangalore. We look forward to enhance business relationships and to foster technological cooperation between Indian and German companies”. Ms Anandi Iyer, Advisor International Technology Cooperation Network said, “The presence of such a large Biotech delegation from Germany particularly with leading names such as Boeringer Ingelheim and Institutions such as the Frankfurt Innovation Centre for Biotechnology from the city of Frankfurt underline the strong interest of the German Biotech Industry to partner with India. We hope that the Indo - German Business Forum which is the ideal platform for the B2B meetings will see many exciting partnerships being formed.” The 4th annual event is geared to be prolific platform for global industry leaders of the biotechnology field and expects a participation of 700 delegates of 100 companies from 15 countries. With prominent speakers and a diverse range of exhibitors, it promises to be an ideal opportunity to update oneself on current developments in the biotechnology sector and at the same time to view the products and their practical applications.
