Bangalore: Genpact, providers of Business Services and Technology Solutions, announced its expansion plans in the cities of Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar and Jaipur. Genpact has received an in-principle clearance to set-up three Special Economic Zones (SEZs) from the Board of Approval, Special Economic Zone of the Ministry of Commerce in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur. Discussions are in an advanced stage with the three State Governments. Genpact has also signed a lease and is beginning construction of a 1 million (10 lakh) square feet facility on a 12-acre plot within the IT SEZ being developed by DLF in Silokhera on NH8 opposite the 32nd Milestone Complex in Gurgaon (Haryana). These planned expansions follow those made earlier this year in North Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Changchun (Genpact’s 2nd city of operations in China), Wroclaw (Poland) and Alabang, Philippines, outside Manila. Speaking on the company’s expansion, Genpact President & CEO Pramod Bhasin said: “Our growth, which has been in excess of 20 percent per annum over the last several years, is encouraging us to plan ahead and partner with state governments to identify expansion sites that will serve the larger Indian BPO/ ITES sector. These new facilities will offer exciting career and growth opportunities to the youth in these states.” Genpact Senior Vice President Ashok Tyagi said Genpact is hiring in excess of 800 new employees a month in India. “These expansions will accommodate the continued growth of the company,” he said. While hiring for the new facilities has already begun through Genpact’s employment offices, the company will offer existing employees from its other centers the option to take a transfer to these facilities. Graduates with 1-3 years of working experience in finance or IT related positions will be able to find opportunities to work with India’s leading business process outsourcing (BPO) firm. Genpact employs an array of HR tools to address the professional and personal, long-term and short-term concerns of its people. In addition to offering 1,500 professional certification programs for its employees, Genpact runs a program called Education@Work, wherein it has tied up with some of the top business schools like XLRI and IIM Bangalore. The training not only develops talent that benefits Genpact, but also transforms associates into professionals in their own right. Genpact’s current employee strength stands at 26,782 of which over 20,000 associates are based in India across Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur and Kolkata. The company now actively recruits through its 17 unique hiring offices across India.
