General Atlantic Partners promotes Abhay Havaldar

MUMBAI: Abhay Havaldar has been promoted to a partner by the Greenwich, CT-based global private equity firm General Atlantic Partners LLC. GAP now has a total of 17 partners globally.
Based in Mumbai, Havaldar joined General Atlantic as a principal in June 2002. Prior to joining GAP, Havaldar was a co-founder and partner of Connect Capital, a Mumbai-based private equity. Before co-founding Connect Capital in 2000, Havaldar was a partner at Draper International.
Before joining the VC industry, Havaldar worked at various IT companies including Tata Unisys (now Tata Infotech) and HCL-HP. Havaldar is a graduate of the London Business School and holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bombay.
