Gamblers Betting High on the Indian Market

Despite the fact that gambling in India is highly restricted, surveys show that almost 40 percent of the Indian internet users’ visit gambling sites. These sites mainly cater gambling associated with lottery, cricket and horse betting fixes.

According to data that have been published by Media Entertainment Consulting Network (MECN), the current financial growth in the per capita income, mainly of the middle class has increased and easy access to Internet is turning India into a budding hub for online gambling operators.

Another very famous means of betting in India is Horse Racing. Horse Racing history in India is above 100 years old. There is Horse Racing centers in almost all the major cities of the country like Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Mysore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Earlier this year in February an industry study reported that Indian casino revenues went up in the year 2011. It also included that not only the revenues raised by 3 percent but Indian casinos are also increasing their share of total casino gambling revenue.
