Bangalore: GUIdancer, Bredex GmbH's automated functional test tool, has been released in version 3.2 and is available for download from the GUIdancer website. Version 3.2 contains a variety of new supported test actions, increasing the amount of tests that can be automated out-of-the-box. Using the library of GUIdancer actions, testers can create powerful, modular tests simply by dragging and dropping the required actions. Because this approach does not involve any program code, automation with GUIdancer is effective and productive from the outset. One of the frequent problems with test automation is that tests are written in code. The creation and maintenance of such tests, and the automation framework surrounding them, is time consuming and detracts from time spent developing and testing. GUIdancer solves this problem with a library of pre-defined test actions which can be used on any Java or HTML application and on Windows, Linux or Mac platforms. Actions that testers will need are delivered with the tool and can be used to make tests simply by dragging and dropping the required actions to form executable tests. Version 3.2 contains expansions to this library, increasing the tests that can be written for components such as tabbed panes, tables and context menus. These additions boost the library to over one hundred instantly usable test actions, making test creation with GUIdancer more productive than ever. Using GUIdancer actions requires no knowledge of the inner workings of an application. A variety of checks and synchronization actions are available alongside other flexible actions to automatically test applications through the GUI. Version 3.2 supports Windows 7 as well as XP and Vista. A trial version of the software can be downloaded from the GUIdancer website.
