GSTP agreement gets government's nod

New Delhi: The central government Thursday decided to go ahead with the Global System of Trade Preferences (GSTP) agreement, which it would finalise during the GSTP ministers meeting, to be held in Accra, Ghana, next week. A large Indian delegation led by Commerce Minister Kamal Nath will visit Accra later this month to discuss multi-lateral trade regime, among other issues. The minister will also seek too engage with other leaders to ensure that the Doha Round of global trade talks under the aegis of World Trade Organisation is back on track. India is one of the 77 developing countries under the GSTP, which was constituted to promote trade among developing nations.
