GE Healthcare introduces CT system from Bangalore facility

Bangalore: GE Healthcare has launched its first HiSpeed Computer Tomography (CT) system from Bangalore facility. The company claims that it is a further demonstration of its commitment to Indian healthcare industry to reduce cost, increase access and improve quality, reports Financial Chronicle.

Also, the company plans to manufacture 40 CT systems in 2010 and to double the capacity in two years, based on the demand. At present, almost every medical imaging equipment like CT, MRI, nuclear medicine are imported by customers in India as there are no local manufacturers, which results in long waiting periods.
