CHENNAI: FutureSoft, a Chennai-based provider of communications and embedded software solutions, is planning major forays into the $ 35 billion global broadband access space with its strong Intellectual Property Rights base in telecom products and solutions. "We are also putting in place a well articulated global marketing strategy to take on this lucrative market for proven broadband access products and solutions", K V Ramani, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, told reporters. He said the company would also be scouting for strategic partners "not necessarily equity partners" across the globe in this exercise. He said the new initiatives were in line with the company's goal of becoming the pre-eminent solutions player in the communications and embedded systems space in which the company had at least 60 plus IPR products and five solutions. FutureSoft, which already has its presence in the North American, European and Asia Pacific markets with seven offices is planning to open two more offices shortly in Boston and Japan. As part of these new global plans, FutureSoft has inducted Phanesh Murthy, former Global marketing and sales head of Infosys into its board and appointed Sarbpreet Singh, formerly working with Lucent Technologies, as it global marketing head.
