Foursquare's Crowley is bored with 'Facebook Places'
Bangalore: Foursquare founder Dennis Crowley said he is not impressed with the new location sharing service. Foursquare which offers multiple gaming aspects feels Facebook places could copy this gaming mechanism but Foursquare is determined to face it. "I have now had a chance to play around with Facebook Places and it's not that great or interesting. It's a pretty boring service, with barely any incentives for users to keep coming back and telling their friends where they are" said Crowley. Places will be soon moving to mobile phone users and it is already available as an Apple iPhone app but Crowley expects it to gain some more features. Crowley might be right in the opinion of having incentives but the knowledge of Facebook Places not offering many incentives might be too wrong. A social network which has real people is having higher propensity towards checking in and noticing a friend nearby than Foursquare which has a tiny user base.
