HYDERABAD: Former Oracle India chief Shekhar Dasgupta has joined Solix Technologies as President and COO. Prior to joining Solix, Dasgupta held various positions including Alliances Director, Country Manager, and subsequently as the Managing Director of Oracle India. Dasgupta grew Oracle India to 5th place from the 10th position in Asia Pacific division, including Japan. One of his key initiatives included establishing the Oracle-HP e-Governance Center of Excellence. Solix CEO and founder Sai Gundavelli said, “Solix Technologies is redefining information lifecycle management. Our recent customer wins prove the fact that enterprises are looking for singular platform to manage data (Applications, Email, and Documents) across the enterprise rather than point solutions.” Dasgupta said, “In the last two decades that I have spent in the technology industry, I have had the opportunity to work across organizations in various sectors. In the early days the driver was automating manual processes and was essentially Data Processing. Then came the era of massive business process changes, enabled by integrated Business Applications. With data explosion, I see the next phase of growth coming from Information Lifecycle Management. I was excited to join Solix Technologies as it had the vision of providing a complete suite in the area of Data Management which can enable organizations to meet the increasing demands of productivity, performance, data security, business intelligence and regulatory compliance.” Shekhar holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIM-Bangalore and Economic Honors from Presidency College.
