SAN JOSE: Subrah S Iyer founded WebEx Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBX), the leader in interactive communications infrastructure for business meetings on the Web, announced Wednesday that it has added Casimir Skrzypczak to its Board of Directors. As a widely recognized expert in the telecommunications and networking industries, Cas broadens WebEx's seasoned Board of Directors, the company said in a press release. It may be recalled that last year the company had strengthened its board by adding two executives -- Mark Leslie, chairman of the board of Veritas Software and Anthony Muller, executive vice president and chief financial officer of JDS Uniphase Corporation. Cas comes to WebEx from Global Communications Partners, where he is a general partner. Prior to Global Communications Partners, Cas was a senior vice president for Cisco Systems focused on the Service Provider Line of Business. In this role, he was responsible for the delivery and support of Cisco's products and solutions for the worldwide service provider market segment. He has also held a senior-level executive position at Telecordia Technologies and was the president of NYNEX Science & Technology where he was responsible for the design of the communication company's network architecture and research and development programs. "With more than 6,000 corporations subscribing to its services and strategic reseller agreements with the world's top telecommunications providers, WebEx is transforming the way businesses communicate," said Cas. "WebEx Communications has established itself as the leader of the Web conferencing market and I look forward to contributing to its future success." "I am very pleased to welcome Cas to the Board of Directors," said Subrah Iyar, chairman and CEO of WebEx Communications, Inc. "His experience in telecommunications, networking and R&D is invaluable as WebEx becomes adopted as the telecommunications industry standard for Web meetings." WebEx provides communications services to corporations, technology companies and telecommunications providers worldwide. Departments across the enterprise use WebEx meetings to reduce travel costs, increase sales and improve productivity. All of WebEx services are built on the WebEx's MediaTone communications platform and supported by WebEx Interactive Network, a high-performance global network specifically designed for visual Web communications. WebEx's unique MediaTone communications technology delivers unmatched levels of performance and security, and allows the WebEx network to support advanced interaction and manage complex file types including steaming media, live video and 3D CAD files.
