Finisar Corporation sets up its base in India

Bangalore: Finisar Corporation, a provider of fiber optic subsystems and network test systems has set up base in India. Jerry S. Rawls, Chairman of Finisar Corporation formally inaugurated the Hyderabad center. Giri Chodavarapu, Vice President and General Manager of Finisar India said that the newly opened center located in the Cyber Pearl Office Complex of Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad, has a headcount of 20 consisting primarily of software application developers (back-office support), techno functional Oracle supporters, infrastructure support and delivery staff and system applications support and delivery staff. The 6,200 square feet of general office space including six private offices and two conference rooms has been taken on lease. The office has an official headcount capacity of 72. Finisar, with a global employee base of 5000 is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with R&D, manufacturing sites and sales offices worldwide. Its products enable high-speed communications for networking and storage applications over Gigabit Ethernet Local Area Networks (LANs), Fiber Channel Storage Area Networks (SANs) and Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) using both IP (Internet Protocol) and SONET (Synchronous Optical Networking) or SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) based protocols.
