Fareed Zakaria to Receive 'Justice in Action' Award

Fremont: Fareed Zakaria, CNN host and Time editor-at-large will be honored with "justice in action" award on 8 Feb, 2012. The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund will honor him with this award in New York City. Fareed Zakaria is a frequent commentator and author about issues related to international relations, trade and American foreign policy. In January 2010, Zakaria was given the Padma Bhushan award by the Indian government for his contribution to the field of journalism. Harvard University announced on October 14, 2011 that Zakaria was the principal speaker at the Afternoon Exercises of Harvard's 361st Commencement. Other honorees are Parkin Lee, Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary of The Rockefeller Group and Yale Law professor Jean Koh Peters. Over 600 leaders of the civil rights, legal, business, and arts communities are expected to attend AALDEF's 2012 Lunar New Year Gala celebrating the Year of the Dragon. The Gala begins with a 6 p.m. cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by the Justice in Action Awards ceremony and a banquet dinner.
