DALLAS: i2 Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq:ITWO), the leading provider of value chain management solutions, today announced that Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE:FCS), one of the largest suppliers of high performance products for multiple end markets, has implemented i2's Demand Fulfillment Solution to streamline its supply chain processes. Fairchild initiated the implementation of a series of totally new integrated applications, which would replace its legacy systems and provide a fully integrated enterprise system to manage its business. One of the critical requirements was for an advanced Supply Chain Management (SCM) solution that would integrate demand forecasting, enterprise master planning, and demand fulfillment processes. i2's Demand Fulfillment solution is designed to simultaneously consider factory materials and capacity capabilities for near term order commitment or quote response. "We saw this as our opportunity to differentiate ourselves in a highly competitive market by establishing better service levels for our customers. We put into operation an advanced planning system to enhance our ability to match supply and demand and capture a complete view of supply and plant capacity," said Dan Janson, director of Business Systems at Fairchild. "From over 4,300 new requests, demand fulfillment matched the request date 10 percent better than the legacy system. After about 10 days, we estimate that the revenue impact was about $100,000." Fairchild worked closely with i2 to develop a strategy for implementing a solution that could provide a quick ROI, streamline business processes and efficiently rollout the application across all of the company's product lines. Fairchild initially implemented i2 Demand Fulfillment with the company's Interface & Logic product line. Following a phased approach to rollout an integrated family of modular SCM solutions, the company will complete the implementation of the i2 SCM solutions for the remaining product lines by the summer of 2003. "The hard work and total dedication of the Fairchild team, as well as proactive education and training of the super users, ensured a smooth implementation phase and accelerated the adoption by the broader user community," said Hiten Varia, i2 chief delivery officer. "This go-live expands the i2 footprint at Fairchild, which includes Demand Planning, Forecast Netting and Master Planning solutions that are currently in production."
