Epson offers affordable printers for SMEs

Bangalore: "Reeling under the pressure of global economic slump, companies seek to cut operating cost and want to go for technologies which completely fulfill this need," said S M Ramprasad, Senior Business Manager, Epson India, a digital imaging solution provider, during the launch of Epson's new package called Epson Stylus office. The launch is intended to offer affordable document printing and scanning solutions to SMEs. The new offerings includes printers such as Epson Stylus Office T30, T40W, TX300F and TX600FW, which are designed to address the needs of the SMEs and Epson's new two sheet fed scanners-Epson GT-S80 and GT-S50 are built to meet the high speed document scanner market. Moreover, a wireless network connectivity feature has been engineered in selected models of the Epson Stylus Office. The products are available with a price ranging from 5299 to 47,999. Growth prospect of SMEs in India looks healthy in spite of the economic downturn and Epson claims that the company needs to ensure that their products are affordable to small organization and give complete value of money during the time of financial crunch. As per the estimates with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, there are approximately 13.2 million SMEs in India. Research firm Gartner finds that companies spend up to three percent of business revenue on document printing. The company is looking to install its new range of solutions over 500 SMEs in three months and 2000 by the end of 2009. "We are announcing the launch at the right time as we believe that our new products will definitely help small businesses to cut their costs. Through installing the Epson products, companies are accessing the services which costliest printers and scanners can only offer," added Ramprasad.
