NEW DELHI: The government Wednesday approved a move to take information technology (IT) to 9,380 secondary schools by the end of the 10th five-year plan in 2007. The cabinet committee on economic affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, accepted a proposal by the human resource development ministry, which also suggested sharing of the project cost. According to the proposal, the central government will bear 75 percent of the cost, while the states will shell out 25 percent.
