Eisai to invest 
500 Cr in Vizag SEZ

Hyderabad: Japanese pharma major the $5.6 billion Eisai is setting up a manufacturing and R&D center in Vizag. It will be housed in the pharma SEZ at Vizag.
The manufacturing facility will make active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished formulations. Basic research work will be done at the R&D center. The facility is spread over 50 acres and will start operations in five years.
The Indian facility will prove cost effective to Eisai due to the cost benefits that firms in SEZs enjoy. There is a 15 year income tax holiday available.
Eisai's main products are Aricept used to treat Alzheimer's disease and Pariet.
