EXL gets British Security Standard certification

NEW DELHI: EXL Service Holdings on Thursday announced its certification to a British Security standard, a specification that defines requirements for implementing and documenting effective information security management system. The certification -- BS7799 -- assures that a secure management framework is established and maintained within the organisation and confirms the company's expertise in Information Security, Business Continuity Planning as well as Disaster Recovery, a company release said here. "With the increasing focus on information security, physical security and business continuity planning in case of unforeseen disaster, the BS7799 certification provides a means for us to benchmark our Information Security Management System to an international standard and to reassure clients who entrust critical information in our custody", Vikram Talwar, Vice Chairman and CEO of the company was quoted as saying. EXL is a third party Business Process Outsourcing company. EXL completed the certification in eight months through a security audit by STQC under Department of IT.
