EMC launches Women's Leadership Forum - India Chapter

Bangalore: EMC Software and Services India, a fully owned subsidiary of EMC Corporation, one of the leaders in information infrastructure solutions, launched the India Chapter of the Women's Leadership Forum (WLF) on International Women's Day.
The EMC WLF India Chapter was launched during an event attended by more than 400 women employees at EMC's India Center of Excellence in Bangalore. This forum aims to provide shared learning and support for women at EMC and aligns with EMC's inclusivity and diversity policy by promoting awareness and understanding of diversity through the dissemination of information, recognition, professional development, and networking opportunities for women employees.
Announcing the launch of the forum, R. Vidyasagar, Senior Director HR, EMC India Center of Excellence said, "We are pleased to announce the launch of WLF in India. WLF-India will focus on the overall empowerment and development of women employees through skill and career building programs, networking events and mentoring opportunities. We believe that an inclusive workplace in which all individuals can excel is essential for our company to thrive."
Madhu Manjunath, President, Women's Leadership Forum, EMC India said, "Research and experience indicate that women continue to encounter distinct barriers to career advancement. WLF in India envisions providing a platform to recognize and embrace the uniqueness of women to deliver high performance with strong leadership support focusing on professional and individual development, foster innovation to significantly contribute to EMC's business and our community."
The WLF has become a force across EMC's global community, which is dedicated to the personal and professional growth of women. The India chapter will assist women employees achieve full potential by building awareness and appreciation of unique individual needs of the organization and creating and sustaining an inclusive workplace.
