BANGALORE: The acquisition of a controlling stake in MphasiS by Electronic Data Systems [EDS] seems to have pushed the exit button for a lot of the former’s chiefs. With a restructuring plan on the platter, sources have it that Deepak Patel, current head of EDS India, is most likely to lead the new merged entity. Meanwhile, the current management is planning a get away. Sources claim that Jerry Rao (the current CEO) is likely to quit soon. Others following suit include Jeroen Das, V-C, and Anant Koppar, head of technology business. While EDS completed its $380 million deal for MphasiS in June this year, the company is planning to ramp up its employee base to 20,000 from the current base of around 14,000 by the end of the year. Making an entrance into the Indian scenario in 2003, EDS has built an employee base of over 3,000 people, while MphasiS has over 10,000 employees across its BPO and ITeS businesses.
