NEW DELHI: Global scientific products major DuPont said Thursday it had entered into a marketing alliance with state-run gas major GAIL India Ltd. As part of the alliance, DuPont and GAIL will jointly market the "DDG" three-layer polyethylene pipe coating system in India and select overseas markets like Turkey, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. The "DDG" system is the most proven and widely used coating system for steel pipes that helps prevent corrosion and protects pipelines from mechanical damage during handling, laying and use. "The alliance allows us to offer solutions that contribute to protecting national assets - India's pipelines - and to contribute to the country's economic growth," said Henrique Ubrig, president of DuPont India. The statement said GAIL would have access to international technology and products to protect its own pipelines as well as gain access to DuPont pipeline markets overseas.
