Dissatisfied with job? You are not alone

Bangalore: About 50 percent of executives are dissatisfied with their current position in the work place. The research done by Korn/Ferry institute, a talent management solution provider, reveals that around 47 percent of employed executives are either somewhat or very dissatisfied with their jobs.
The lackluster job market has not only left executives unhappy, but also uncovers a lack of trust for corporate leadership. The survey results suggest that low employee morale among executives may be linked to the lack of trust they feel towards company leaders. A surprising 31 percent of executives have stated that they do not trust their boss.

The survey also states that as many as 36 percent of executives have reported that they do not trust their CEOs. When asked if their current CEO was the best person for the job, only 38 percent respondents said "absolutely," while 34 percent responded "somewhat" and 28 percent said "not at all."
Ana Dutra, President and CEO, Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting said, "The global recession has left fewer employees to do more work, often for less pay. Stress levels are high and some executives are getting burnt out. However, irrespective of the business cyclicality, companies must take proactive steps to keep key employees engaged if they want to retain them for the long term and be seen as an employer of choice."
The Korn/Ferry International Executive Quiz is based on a global survey of executives registered within the firm's online Executive Center. Respondents from 70 countries, representing a wide spectrum of industries and functional areas, participated in the most recent Executive Quiz in May-June 2009.

1: No company is interested in satisfying their
employees. All the companies are running on
God\\\'s grace. All the employers are only
interested in making money by taking bribe
from the candidates. I am dissatisfied from
Managers, HRs, COO, Clients and investors of
\\\"I Energizer\\\". Clients is Sprint. I was
topper of the training batch but I was sacked
on saying I failed in the test. This is
utmost unfairness. I complained to the
manager, and client. But nothing happened.
Even I was not thought to be informed what
happened and what action was taken after
investigation done by the HR Rajiv. The COO
said that Rajiv will investigate into the
matter.

I would like to add that Recession has done some wonderful things:
1. Made our jobs - Very Attractive.
2. Ended the MLM style formulating of getting payed attitude.
3. Should make us realize that our spending cannot exponentially increase by adapting to Western Style of daily(regularly) drinking(our people get drunk than drink), partying, ..
4. Respect other jobs even if small. "Tommorrow i could be smaller than him, if i lose my job!"
5. Finally, we have raised the cost of living for others by increasing the Rent, Taxi Charges, Movie Tickets, .. and made life miserable for people outside of the booming industry like farming, military, etc who are just unable to match their buying capabilities to the rate of today. Well a movie ticket sold at Rs.60/- during a weekday could be no less than Rs.150/- in the weekend as it seems 150 does not stand even at a 1% on our salary while the same is enough for them for a week of household. If we did mind that 150 the tickets would be no more than sold during the weekday.
WE WERE SINCERE WE GOT A LOT OF JOBS - NOW WE SAY WE NEED TIME TO CHILL! - JOBS GO WHERE PEOPLE ARE SINCERE - NOW GOING OUT OF INDIA!

14:hey Edwin u are absolutely true.
We (though i never count myself in this multitude) tend to change ourselves instantly as our salary changes. The same us would love to have a 3 rs tea in a chai dhaba in our college would not even think of getting down from our cars unless its a CCD or a barista. I too get paid for my job but that doesnt mean I wud change my lifestyle the thing that is the real me.

it's bit true till some extend that some of CEO's are idiots.....but truth lying with the other scenario......in India....living cost controlling by the ruling Govt. they should aware about the people of the country....how it is possible they should focus ..the Right from the beginning for Middle class people those who are marginalized for all schemes from the govt.if they control the fact.. their budget can give the impact on it all sudden faults...u just analyze the 25 % people of this country in doing rich every day since their life begun they are only in all tax subsidies.....and others are BPL.... but it's just for paper .....not ion real u can visit any village see them today and go meet them next year.....they will be in same position... so that's why people are not ready to work in India so far they willing to work other country in any job without any shame ....why they do pay more in monetary and morale level also.....we blame only .....Govt...they should fix this things with labour enforcement...100 % of politician are some how they are criminals.....or Cheaters of Govt funds.our country running by thieves....see all our MNC's are not superior to GOVT and Constitution of India, It can be fairly eliminated by Govt, but so far they are getting bribe so CEO does what they want.....is the fact put this aligations to ourself to choose right person to Parliament atleast Next Election....Think Beyond of this political situation.

are solved. HR should not become dummies of
the departmental heads. if the bosses are not
able to identiy the quality and strength of a
person, HR should take initiative and try to
judge the performances of each individual.

I think the real reason for dissatisfaction is that a lot of average and mediocre people who thought (and may be still think) high of themselves are getting exposed for what they really are - some are getting booted out and some are hanging on. This surevy seems to be a reflection of the hangers on.
Bosses - if any of the guys say he/she is unhappy with the job, just throw the challenge and ask them to put in their papers. You will see how serious are they about their claim.
