Descon ties up with Spanish firm, floats web portal

Kolkata: Descon, an IT unit promoted by Dishergarh Power Supply (DPSCL), has joined hands with a Spanish consultancy firm to launch a web portal disseminating information on the Indian energy sector. Keeping in mind India's need to add a whopping 78,000 MW to the existing power generation capacity during the 11th Five Year Plan (2007-12), the portal has been formed in joint venture with Kolkata-headquartered Descon Ltd and Mercados Energy Markets International (EMI), Madrid. "We have formed this portal, www.indianelectricity.com, under the umbrella of Infeon Network Pvt Ltd. It will provide a forum to disseminate information and facilitate discussion on important aspects of the energy sector," Infeon Network managing director Sabyasachi Das said. He said the portal would virtually act as an advisor to all stakeholders. It will have sector information, critical analyses of market moves and databases on legislation.
