Delhi best city to live in, outscores Mumbai
Bangalore: According to the Liveability Index 2010 by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Institute for Competitiveness (IFC), Delhi tops the list as the best Indian city to live in, while Mumbai takes the second place.

The Liveability Index 2010 reports are based on study conducted on a list of 37 cities in India. Some of the parameters involved in the study are socio-cultural environment, education, living standard, recreational possibilities, safety and medical standards. Delhi topped the safety and economic environment and education parameters and is placed second in the socio-cultural political environment and housing options. Delhi fared bad in medical standards and was placed in 17th position.

The report said, "In overall quality of life, Delhi outscores on Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune and Gurgaon, which take up respective ranks second to ninth." The report said, "The quality of life experienced by the citizens living in a city is tied to their ability to access infrastructure, food, clean air, affordable housing, meaningful employment and green space and perks."

Faridabad, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Patna, Visakhapatnam and Jamshedpur are the cities which have been ranked last. Mumbai topped the demographic, socio-cultural politico environment parameters and natural-built environment.

4: I just cant understand on what basis Delhi comes on top. Who has been contacted is the BIG question. There are other small cities which are far far better than Delhi but since its the home of political "Drama" it gets the preference
