MUMBAI: Datacraft India has bagged a $1 million contract from State Bank of India to build a network connecting the bank's all foreign branches. The company would design, build and manage a network connecting SBI's all 57 offices across 20 countries and run centralised banking applications for the bank, a Datacraft press release said here on Thursday, quoting president (India and Sub-continent) Nagendra Venkaswamy. The project, called 'SBI Connect', is one of the largest of its kind in terms of the number of foreign branches involved, it said. Datacraft would use a mix of Multi Protocol Label Switching Virtual Private Network (MPLS VPN), International Private Leased Circuits (IPLC) and Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSat) to build the network, it added. The company would also run applications like Core Banking Solutions (CBS), treasury, asset management, fund transfer and internet banking among others, it said. Datacraft had earlier implemented Phase I and II of the project, it said, adding under Phase II of the project it had set up a network spanning over 4,500 branches across 400 cities.
