DLF selects IBM to transform its IT Infrastructure

Bangalore: Indian Real Estate Development Company DLF has awarded IBM India a 10 year contract to transform and manage its IT Infrastructure. Currently a US$ 29 million contract, this could multiply on the back of DLFs growth plans.
Under this agreement, IBM Global Technology Services will implement and maintain policies, standards, technology and delivery infrastructure, and standardize them as part of a broader transformation, across more than 20 locations in India. IBM will undertake security and disaster recovery planning, deploy a complete organization security framework and check Security readiness for ISO 27000.
IBM will also be responsible for Helpdesk support to DLF users across India and for IT Infrastructure operations including Technology Refresh.
As part of the partnership IBM and DLF will set up a Technology Innovation Council (TIC) with joint participation. The TIC will focus on identifying and deploying new solutions for DLF and Indian Real estate industry. Some of the solutions under consideration are advanced Security Management solutions like Digital Video Surveillance, utilizing technology for land acquisition process and other management systems. Some of the other focus areas would include IT solutions for Building management and intelligent buildings.
Rajeev Singh, Vice Chairman DLF said, "Our association with IBM would help us innovate robust solutions for the real estate sector, by using the expertise of both the companies."
"Real estate is one of the fastest growing sectors in India and DLF has an opportunity to capitalize on this and other emerging trends in this market to grow its business and compete on a global scale," said Nipun Mehrotra, Director - IBM Global Technology Services, India/South Asia.
IBM has commenced the deployment of an Intranet for DLF, which would focus on improved collaboration and higher employee productivity. The project is focused on creating an integrated systems and application backbone for DLF.
