Create 10 jobs in U.S., get green card for family

By SiliconIndia,Monday, 30 November 2009, 18:50 Hrs
New Delhi: The Obama administration extended the regional centre investment EB-5 program, which entitles investors who put in $1 million into regional centre real estate projects and create at least 10 jobs in the U.S., to green cards along with their families.

Simply put, this program allows investors a fast-track to U.S. green cards and permanent residency. If investors are willing to put money into a business carried out on in a designated backward area, the investment required is even lower at $500,000, reports Economic Times.
Create 10 jobs in U.S., get green card for family

The EB-5 program is attracting a large number of hospitality entrepreneurs from Gujarat who are keen on setting up shop in the U.S. Many of the Gujarati hotel entrepreneurs also have strong family links in the U.S.

"The falling dollar has increased the number of applications in the EB-5 category in addition to access to branded hotel deals that are trading at 30-40 percent discount. This is definitely the time to buy as the U.S. real estate market is slowly recovering," says Sachin U Patel, Managing Principal of real estate development company American Life, which operates the EB-5 regional centres in Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett.

The regional centres are diversified funds or private business development projects that allow EB-5 investors to infuse the required funds and in return acquire a small ownership interest.

Most immigration experts are seeing a growing interest in the EB-5 category of visas. Mumbai-based Immigration Attorney Sudhir Shah says, "This is certainly a good time to apply for the EB-5 programme. There are several schemes on offer wherein you merely have to invest money and in return you get a green card without having to actively participate in the business. For those who are looking at moving to the U.S. to run a motel or store there, the reduced property prices are a big attraction too, as they can get more value for their dollar investments."

The EB-5 scheme, though proving to be very attractive, is however not without glitches. Proving that the funds available for investment are from lawful sources can be a challenge for some Indian investors.

2: I can give only ideas If that works
1.recruit those who have minimum qualification and give them chance to work in some student loan call centres.
2.Give them Jobs who have there profile as a graphic designer .
3.Those who experts in computers give them chance in news chanell at back stage, jobs like post production .
4. give people chance in web designing.
5. give people to work in banks.
6.give people to work in insurance company as an agent.
7.do not throw out your mobiles or your electronic goods after use or damage, open some service centres so that some electronic engineers can get good jobs.
8.hire more people to teach elementary schools and secondary schools. US Federal government should close out all private schools and and open lots of government schools.
9. Us needs to hire people who can teach art or design.
10. hire people as security guards for a atm , or some MNCs.
11. one extra tip. please hire muslims for US military. even muslims are human. terrorists do not have any cast there are non-religious. if a muslim is terrorist they will think million times to kill an another muslim.
Islam means peace!.Everyone is equal in the world. when one come in the world does not comes with a religion or goes with a religion he comes with a peaceful soul and and goes with a peace full soul.
anyone who is educated please read the above line carefully.
Please forward this message to president OBAMA

7: THE CONCEPT OF FAMILY :

I believe in the concept of "VASUDHAIKA KUTUMBUM" and I am connected to the entire humanity and I am part of this human family for we are all children of God. Kindly explain this program just one more time. For a million dollar investment, from legal and lawful source,if I generate ten new jobs, my entire Earthly family would be issued Green Cards. If Obama cannot do it, may be there is a place for all of us in the Greatest Kingdom of Heaven.

15: Hats off to Ms Obama,Because he is very much concerned about developing his country atleast by inviting foreign investors, but its not the case in India,Though we have the thought to build our nation,we are not supported by our Leaders, they are very keen in developing their bank accounts, till then nothing can be done.People will start migrating to different countries...Jai Hind.

17:Rishabh, why are you so pessimistic in life? the amount pf 2.5 to 5 crores is not something thats impossible for a lot of people in India , and where the question of developing own country or leaders filling thier accounts etc come in this discussion ? Anyways the other sad side of the story to be looked into is that for Rs 5 crore in India, one cant get a flat in cuffe parade , mumbai but one can start a hotel in USA 0 employing 10 people isnt that awesome Now its time to say Jai Hind.

19: That is not entirely right

If Pepsi/coke goes to a desert town in Rajastan and pump out all the water for free. They pay taxes to the govt that is a percentage of their income but they pay nothing to the people whose water they are taking away for free. Same is the case when you have mines or airports, the idea is rich people and the middle class and the Govt are getting dollar rich. But the poor or the uneducated will loose their land or property and their lively hood.
The only way to bring them up is with good education, but let me assure you as a student outside India, I think inspite of all the hype about Indians doing well abroad. Most of the Indians are struggling to do well because the quality of our education is so watered down and become so trivial that few African countries like Kenya or Nigeria has better standards than us.

Having lived in US I can tell you from these character are important contributers to efficient functioning, which inturn keeps the economy running. Also why are we so myopic in contributing towards US economic growth. I am not an EB5 applicant but see it like this. As brain drain of IT from India came back as big boost to Indian economy. This new initiative can also. What is sow is what you get.
