Corporate America backs Indians for immigration
Bangalore: Defending the immigration of high skilled professionals in the U.S., Corporate America says that the biggest technology brands in the world like Google, Amazon, Apple, Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft and Qualcomm wouldn't have been possible without such immigration. The country strongly defends India and Indians in this regard and this information was procured from an 81-page report, prepared on behalf of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and the American Council of International Personnel (ACIP) prepared this month. The USCC is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses of every size, sector and region. ACIP provides the resources and support necessary to advance the placement, training and mobility of highly educated professionals worldwide. Leading technology companies feel that highly educated foreign nationals have played an important role in their success. The report mentions about Google's reference to Krishna Bharat who joined the company in 1999 through the H-1B programme. "A native of India, he received his PhD from Georgia Tech in human computer interaction. His work on web search at DEC Systems Research Center and at Google earned him several patents, and he is a noted authority on search engine technology. Laszlo Bock, VP for people operations at Google has testified him before the House of Representative's immigration subcommittee. Google also refers to Orkut Buyukkokten, who was born in Konya, Turkey and developed the social networking site- Orkut.
