Convio raises $15 M in fourth round

Vinay Bhagat founded Convio Inc., an Austin, TX-based provider of software and services for online fundraising and advocacy, has raised a $15 million fourth round led by Adams Street Partners with participation from previous investors including Granite Ventures, Austin Ventures and Silverton Partners.
Founded in April 1999, Convio provides software and services that help nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions use the Internet for fundraising, advocacy, special events, membership drives, Web site management and email communications.
Vinay Bhagat, Convio's Chief Strategy Officer, was earlier Director of E-Commerce at Trilogy Software. Before Trilogy, he was a consultant and team leader at Bain & Company. Bhagat graduated from Harvard Business School and holds an MS from Stanford in Engineering-Economic Systems, and MA from Cambridge University in Electrical and Information Sciences with first class honors.
