Consumer Sales up in January: Boon for Market Revival
Bangalore: After a stressed quarter of low sales last year, the automobiles, consumer electronics and lifestyle retail chains sales have increased in a significant manner in the month of January, reports ET Bureau.
The fall of GDP growth from 8.6 percent to 7.2 percent, the economy was trembling with money inflation, high commodity prices, increasing interest rates along with the Euro zone crisis has hitched the consumer confidence but the complete scene changed in the month of January.
There were primarily two reasons for this positive growth. Renowned companies like Samsung, Nokia, and Reliance retail have put on favourable discount offers to recover its stock market value for their products such as flat panel televisions, smartphones, cars and fashion garments also the rupee appreciation have pulled out the consumers for more shopping. "The rupee stabilizing against the dollar is one factor for higher sales," says Mahesh Krishnan, Vice President of Samsung India. This growth in sales has raised the hope of revival in consumer sentiment in 2012.
