Bangalore: Cloud service providers can now effortlessly wholesale their cloud services infrastructure to other vendors using a new software platform introduced by VMware.

This new solution ‘vCloud Integration Manager’ is designed to help service providers automate most of the delivery and operational processes that are delivered through  other VMware platforms;  vCloud Director management software, vSphere virtualization,  vShield Edge security and vCenter Chargeback Manager billing as reported by Tim Greene in computerworld.com

“Service providers are looking to get high-margin cloud services to market as quickly as possible," said Mathew Lodge, senior director of cloud services, VMware. "Until now that involved wrangling manual processes, diverting scarce development resources onto writing glue code and portals, or choosing to implement complex and expensive third-party systems. With VMware vCloud Integration Manager, providers of VMware vCloud services will have the tools they need to automatically provision services, enable reseller partners and speed customer on-boarding."

The service provider who plans on wholesaling cloud get the advantage to limit how much cloud capacity each of its resellers can sell to protect the cloud from being over provisioned. Currently cloud services have to be provisioned manually into vCloud Director which in turn configures the virtualization, security and billing platforms.

The new software will allow service providers to quickly create and deploy cloud service offerings; operate at maximum efficiency and scale to meet customer demand in a reliable, repeatable and cost-effective manner. The company also says that this software can accelerate time to generate revenue and Simplify operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Almost 90 service providers have launched vCloud Powered services since the company introduced the program in February 2011. vCloud Integration Manager is expected to be available in Q1 2012 and will be priced on a usage-based subscription model familiar to vCloud Service Providers.
