Close to 97,000 companies PF defaulters

NEW DELHI: As many as 96,978 companies, including private and public sectors, were defaulters towards provident fund in which a sum of Rs 211 trillion was involved. Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that as on March 31 this year, the number of defaulting establishments including private sector and public sector companies. The money involved included employers share as well. In reply to another question, he said the total corpus of Empoyees' provident fund was Rs 79.76 billion.
