NEW DELHI: Within two months of quitting, Cisco Systems India head Manoj Chugh has joined EMC, the leader in worldwide network storage market. Chugh will head EMC’s sales operations in India and Saarc. “It is with great excitement that I embark on the next phase of my career with the information storage leader, EMC. Without a doubt, the IT industry is entering an era in which storage is one of the fastest growing IT segments. In India, SAN and NASCAGR in terms of revenue is expected to grow by 36% and 34% respectively from ’02 to ’07,” Chugh told a leading business daily in India. While EMC’s India and Saarc sales operations will be centered in Delhi, the branch offices in Bangalore and Mumbai will continue to operate. Chugh is based in Delhi and now with EMC will report to Steve Coad, general manager, South Asia. “There is a huge growth potential for automated network storage solutions in the region and I am very confident in Manoj, who has spent over two decades leading IT companies to No 1 positions in their space. He has the ability to drive our storage business successfully, particularly through our partners. I am positive that he will further strengthen our position in the market by bringing his leadership and extensive experience from Cisco Systems and Scientific-Atlanta to bear on EMC’s sales operations in India,” said Coad. Prior to Cisco Systems, Chugh set up the operations of Scientific-Atlanta in India, and grew the business to achieve a position of leadership in the Dama Vsat market in the country. During the early part of his career Chugh held several key positions in sales, business development and general management with Wipro.
