Bangalore: Networking major Cisco Tuesday unveiled a social learning network platform for the global IT community aimed at talent development to meet the growing demand for networking skills. The platform will enable networking professionals and those aspiring for a career in IT to share, discuss and exchange ideas in an online environment, the company said here in a statement. "As networks drive economic growth, collaboration and human interaction, the need for networking talent is more than ever before. To address the increasing demand for networking talent globally, we need to double or triple Cisco certified individuals over the next five years," said Milind Gurjar, Cisco learning director. With social networking features such as blogs, wikis and forums, the platform will facilitate interaction between engineers and thought leaders in network design, implementation and operations. Having an embedded document-sharing tool built into the Web 2.0 site, the community will have a single source to seek out product documentation, configuration and troubleshooting advice and expert opinions on networking challenges.
