Shimla: The RP group of industries entered the Himachal Pradesh market Friday by launching its latest Chirag range of desktops and laptops produced at its new unit in the state. "These machines have been produced at our assembling unit in Parwanoo," said Kaustuv Ray, chairman of the RP Group. "We are looking for suitable land in Himachal Pradesh so that we can set up a 40 crore manufacturing unit for making Chirag desktops and laptops," Ray said. The group, which primarily operates in eastern India, sells its computer products under the brand name of Chirag. It has ventured into north India this year. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh launched the products here Friday. The 400-crore company also has global plans by setting up a computer manufacturing plant in Dubai. It already has a unit in China.
