Hyderabad: China's ambassador to India Zhang Yan Thursday said he was impressed by the progress made by Andhra Pradesh, especially Hyderabad, in information technology and infrastructure. The Chinese envoy, who called on Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, said Hyderabad would hereafter be the focal point for Chinese industrialists and investors as well as visitors. "More Chinese leaders and delegations will be visiting Hyderabad in the days to come. This city has emerged as the hub of pharmaceutical industries, information technology, biotechnology and research and development organisations. We recognise this factor," a statement by the chief minister's office quoted Zhang as saying. He said "China Week" would be celebrated in Hyderabad in connection with the 60th Anniversary of establishment of India-China diplomatic relations. This will be an opportunity for creating awareness about China among the people here. Films about China and its achievements on various fields will be exhibited on the occasion, he added. Inviting investment from China, Rosaiah highlighted the achievements made by the state in various sectors and urged Chinese investors to visit the state and explore the investment opportunities. The chief minister also requested the Chinese ambassador to include Hyderabad in the tour itinerary of Chinese prime minister's forthcoming visit to India. The Chinese ambassador also extended an invitation to Rosaiah to visit China.
