Shanghai: China continues to crack down on hackers and now claims to have shut down the largest hacker training website in the country and arrested three of its members. The "Black Hawk Safety Net" website taught hacking techniques and provided malicious software downloads for its 12,000 members in exchange for a fee, the Wuhan Evening News newspaper reported this weekend, citing police in Huanggang, just east of Wuhan, according to Reuters.

China has been under recent pressure after search giant Google was attacked by hackers. Google had threatened to pull out of China few weeks ago. The Chinese government was also indirectly accused of staging this attack which the government denied. The website was shut in late November and three of its members arrested on suspicion of criminal activity, the newspaper reported. Then the question arises as to why the news has leaked out so late.

The popularity of hacking in China, and hackers' use of multiple addresses and servers, in Taiwan and elsewhere, makes it hard to prove how or by whom they are coordinated.

The reason of the late release of the news is still not clearly known. Is China just acting under international pressure to prove its stance on hacking?
