RAIPUR: In a move to stem corruption and maintain transparency, the Chhattisgarh government announced Saturday it would adopt e-procurement system for all government business deals. From April 1, 2005, the government will make all purchases through e-tendering. The government will adopt e-payment system for clearing payments, an official statement said. Chief Minister Raman Singh said the system would be similar to that in Andhra Pradesh. "After an in-depth study of the Andhra model, we decided to implement it in Chhattisgarh because it is one of the best ways to maintain transparency in all government dealings and execute business deals extremely fast," Singh said.
