CHENNAI: Organised by SKAL, an international grouping of members of the tourism and travel trade, the meet would be held from October 19 to 24. About 600 delegates from as far as the Honduras, Chile and the U.S. are expected to attend. "This will be one of the biggest gatherings of foreign delegates in Chennai and it is an opportunity for us to showcase Chennai to the international travel community," said Manoj Virmani of the SKAL world congress organising committee. "The response to the congress has been increasing every year, which shows the growing interest about India in the global tourist circuit," he said. The five-day event would include presentations projecting India's art, architecture, culture and cuisine. Airlines like Lufthansa and Air India are proving special packages to facilitate participation. Headquartered in Spain, SKAL has a membership of 25,000.
