Chennai firm bags $81 Million Iraqi order

Chennai: The city-based engineering, procurement and construction company BGR Energy Systems has been awarded a $80.5-million contract by Iraq's State Company for Oil Projects (SCOP). According to BGR Energy, the contract is for the development of two gasfields in Iraq and includes supply of equipment. This is SCOP's fourth consecutive order to the 1,922-crore BGR Energy. The Indian firm had earlier supplied 45 hydro carbon tanks worth nearly $18 million for a tank project, and currently, executing the third order for supply of another 17 tanks valued at $9.3 million for another project. In 2006, SCOP had awarded a $76.6-million contract to BGR for a gas processing complex.
