Channelinsight appoints Ram Gupta to its Board of Directors

Denver: Channelinsight, a provider of channel sales management solutions, has appointed Ram Gupta to the company's Board of Directors. Being a member of the Board of directors, Gupta is expected to bring his management and technology expertise to Channelinsight, said Mark Geene, CEO of Channelinsight in a press release. In addition to his work with Channelinsight, Gupta serves as a director on the boards of Progress software (PRGS), S1 Corporation (SONE), Yodlee Inc. and Platform Computing. He also serves on the board of Child Associates of Silicon Valley, a charitable organization also known as CASA. From 2005 to 2010, Gupta was President and CEO, and then Executive Chairman, of Cast Iron Systems. During his tenure, the company became one of the largest vendors of application integration in the cloud and was acquired by IBM in 2010. From 2000 to 2004, Gupta was the Executive Vice President at PeopleSoft responsible for strategy, marketing, development, customer support, alliances and mergers and acquisitions. During his tenure, Gupta led over 6000 people in 15 different countries. Gupta also holds several patents in the U.S. and was awarded the Smithsonian Computer World "Search for the Heroes" Award for the year 2000. He holds an MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and he graduated with Honors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India in 1985.
