Car sales up 14.8% in August

NEW DELHI: Passenger cars sales in India witnessed a 14.8 percent jump in August 2005 at 72,165 units against 62,845 units in August last year.
Sales of two-wheelers also surged by 17.91 percent in August this year to 7,08,214 units as against 6,00,629 units last year, according to figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.
Commercial vehicle sales also increased by 18.17 percent in August at 27,503 units as against 23,273 units in the same month last year, the SIAM said.
