Capgemini to acquire IT company in India

BANGALORE: France based IT major Capgemini today said it will acquire a IT company in India soon. The company has reserved $500 million as the acquisition price. A company official said the firm has already short-listed some ten Indian companies for its acquisition. Capgemini SA Paris group executive board member Antonio Schneider said, “We are negotiating for an acquisition in India which can run up to $500 million.” He said the company is not averse to acquiring even publicly listed companies. “The process is in an early stage, and we are negotiating with around ten Indian companies in the field of systems integration, that includes listed companies" he said. He however refused to speak more on when would the company finalize its acquisition target in India. The $9-billion Capgemini employs around 6000 people at various locations in Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkota.
