Canal construction in Haryana to cost 400 Crore

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister BhupinderSingh Hooda today said the state government would construct a canal between Hathni Kund and Nariangarh at a cost of 400 crore and the proposal has been forwarded to the Central Water Commission for its approval. Addressing a public meeting at Nariangarh in Yamuna Nagar district, Hooda also announced a number of initiatives including the provision of Rs 20 lakh each for development of13 villages which have been just included in Nariangarh assembly constituency after the delimitation process. He also declared to provide Rs 10 lakh each for development of 28 villages of the constituency under a scheme. About 4300 villages have already been given Rs 10 lakh under the scheme,he added.
