London: The Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University, Alison Richard, will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for future collaboration with IT major Infosys Technologies at their Bangalore campus. Alison is set to undertake a 10-day visit to India this month, beginning January 8 to broaden the scope of partnership between Cambridge University and the Indian Industry. The tour itinerary includes visiting Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai apart from Bangalore. The key theme of Alison's visit to the country will be on a synergy between Cambridge and India to address crucial environmental challenges. In New Delhi, Alison will be giving a lecture "Cambridge and the environment" at the British Council. Later in Mumbai, the Vice-Chancellor will visit the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-B) and the University of Mumbai. Alison will also meet Tata Sons Ltd, with whom a partnership agreement was signed last January, and attend an academic symposium on university-industry links organized jointly with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
