CIOs study reveal strong growth for Indian Cloud market
Delhi: Zinnov Management Consulting, a leading globalization advisory firm, today announced the launch of the first-of-its-kind study ever conducted on the Indian Cloud market bringing in a CIO's perspective into the picture and their valued opinion on Cloud as a business tool. "Cloud Opportunities in India - A CIOs Perspective" highlights aspects like the various cloud opportunities existing in India currently and how the market is poised to grow in years to come. Surveying over 100 organizational decision- makers (Chief Information Officers - CIOs) of leading enterprises across key cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune reveals that over 60 percent of CIOs surveyed believe that their IT budgets will surely grow next year and that all Cloud services would accelerate the adoption as well as help standardize different workloads. Speaking about the study, Mr. Pari Natarajan, Chief Executive Officer, Zinnov Management Consulting said, "The next wave of transformation in the Indian IT industry is ?Cloud Computing?. This is indeed a perfect storm. The only difference is that, this storm is destructive only to companies who are not willing to change, while it is a huge opportunity for others." The study also reveals that the emergence of large number of new enterprises in verticals such as Microfinance, Healthcare, and Organized Retail has resulted in an increased IT spends of these verticals to 1-2 percent. However, it is still is lower as compared to some to U.S. and Europe (3-4 percent). IT spends as percentage of revenues has been observed to be the highest in the telecom space with an average of 3-4 percent. Zinnov an advisory firm provides solutions through analyzing the changing dynamics, improving performance, and building institutional capability, also highlighted that the government projects hold huge potential for Cloud technologies. Increasing awareness regarding Right to Information in the public is compelling the government to digitize its databases and make more and more information available to the public domain.
