ISTANBUL: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited the "Experience India" exhibition put together here to showcase India's industrial prowess by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The CII used the occasion to announce that it was engaging itself seriously with businesses in Turkey by setting up an office in Istanbul, the vibrant commercial capital of Turkey that straddles the continents of Asia and Europe. The industry lobby will assign 10 executives to focus on the opportunities in Turkey, the CII announced late Wednesday. It will also send a delegation comprising representatives from different sectors to Turkey to explore areas of cooperation and to suggest ways to increase trade and business ties. Turkey will send a similar delegation to India, but their focus would be on the banking sector. The "Experience India" exhibition was put together in a record time of one month, according to Tarun Das, secretary general of CII. He said about 40 companies had participated in the exhibition.
