CII-Cambridge tie up for national innovation bid

London: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) and the Judges Business School in Cambridge University to provide virtual network, innovation of services link and advisory services. The MoU was signed here Monday, the day Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived on a three-day trip to Britain, CII president R. Seshasayee said in a statement. "CII's alliance with East of England International, a hi-tech cluster with Cambridge, is focussed at developing a model for linking small entrepreneurs and individual innovators with linking academia, R&D institutions, businesses as well as the government to facilitate innovation," the statement said. Through this initiative, CII intends to kick-start Indian industry into a drive mode for innovation, it said. "This tie-up will help to keep a track of knowledge being generated, provide information and nurture innovation into Indian SMEs (small and medium enterprises)," the statement said.
